한 작가는 이번 ‘아리랑’전을 통해 춤의 형식을 빌려 표출하는 사람들의 몸짓을 풀어내고 있다. ‘어깨 둥실’ 아리랑 춤과 북춤을 추는 인물 등을 그려내고 있다. 묵묵히 자신의 자리를 지키고 있는 사람들. 우리가 꿈꾸는 세상과는 동떨어진 세상, 부조리와 부당성이 아직도 성행하는 세상 속에서 상처받은 이들이 자신의 아픔을 몸짓으로 풀어가는 사람들이 주제다. (중략)
이들의 춤 아리랑‘은 곧 세상이 바로서기를 바라는 몸부림, 피폐한 삶에서 탈출하고 싶은 기원이 담겨 있다. 작가는 이를 ’제의(祭儀)로 표현하고 있다. 모두 함께 춤추는 ‘아리랑’이 우리 모두 함께 사는 세상을 만들어 줄 것이라고 기도하고 있다. 공생의 몸짓만이 살아갈 길이라고 말하며 생명의 붓질을 했다고 한다.
한숙 작가는 “사람들의 춤, 거침없는 몸짓은 시대에 대한 저항, 고통의 표출, 모두가 춤추는 세상을 원한다는 적극적인 표현”이라며 “생명의 몸짓에는 엄청난 용기와 책임이 따르며, 이것이 살 길"이라고 말했다.

In the 'Arirang' exhibition, the artist Han Sook explores the gestures of people expressed through the form of dance. The exhibition features depictions of figures performing the 'Shoulder Dance' and drum dances associated with Arirang. These figures represent people who silently uphold their positions in a world far removed from the ideal, where absurdity and injustice still prevail. The artist focuses on those who use their movements to express and release their pain in such a world.The dances in 'Arirang' symbolize a desperate plea for the world to be set right, a wish to escape from a life of deprivation. The artist expresses this through the concept of a ritual, or jeui (祭儀). Han Sook hopes that the collective dance of 'Arirang' will help create a world where everyone can live together harmoniously. The artist believes that only through the gestures of coexistence can we find a path to survival, stating that the act of painting these dances is an expression of life itself.Han Sook comments, "The dance of the people, their unrestrained movements, are a form of resistance to the times, an expression of pain, and a proactive expression of the desire for a world where everyone can dance together. The gestures of life require immense courage and responsibility, and this is the way to survival."
